About CentralCalc
CentralCalc is your central hub for free, no-nonsense calculators.
Most online financial calculators are either buried in ads, hidden behind a sign-up, or so stripped-down they don't actually explain anything. CentralCalc exists to fix that. We build clear, accurate, genuinely useful calculators — and pair each one with plain-English content that explains what the numbers mean and how the math works.
We're an independent publisher of free financial tools and guides — no bank, lender, or broker owns us or steers what we say. Our only job is to help you understand your own numbers.
What we believe
- Free should mean free. No account, no paywall, no email wall to see your result.
- Show the math. Every calculator explains its formula and, where useful, shows the full breakdown — so you can trust the number and learn something.
- Fast and phone-first. Our tools load instantly and are built to be used comfortably one-handed on a phone.
- Honest about limits. Our calculators are educational estimates, not financial advice. We say so clearly and tell you what's not included.
How our calculators work
Each calculator runs entirely in your browser using standard, well-documented financial formulas. Nothing you type is sent to a server — there's no tracking of your inputs and no data to leak. The car loan payment calculator, for example, uses the standard amortizing-loan formula and shows you a full month-by-month payoff schedule so you can see exactly where every dollar goes.
Our editorial standards
Money content is only worth anything if it's right, so we hold every page to a few simple rules:
- Standard, published formulas. Our calculators use the same well-documented math lenders and textbooks use — the amortizing-loan formula, debt-to-income ratios, compound-interest formulas — never a black box.
- We show our work. Each calculator lays out its formula and a worked example with real numbers, so you can check the result yourself instead of taking it on faith.
- Figures are hand-checked. The example numbers in our guides are verified against the underlying math before we publish them.
- Dated and maintained. Guides carry a "last updated" date, and we revise them as rates, rules and best practices change.
- Education, not advice. We explain how things work in plain English; we don't push products or give personalized recommendations.

How we keep the lights on
CentralCalc is supported by unobtrusive display advertising. Ads never interfere with a calculator's result, and we don't sell or share the numbers you enter. That's the whole deal — useful tools, supported by ads, free to you.
A quick disclaimer
CentralCalc provides educational tools and general information only. We are not a lender, broker, or financial advisor, and nothing here is financial, legal or tax advice. Always confirm figures and terms with a qualified professional before making a decision.
